How to Request a Waste Collection from Rua-Con: A Step-by-Step Guide

Need waste removed from your home, business or site? This guide walks you through the Rua-Con collection request form, from choosing a service to hearing back from our team.

Introduction

Rua Construction and Projects (Rua-Con) provides waste management, recycling and related collection services for households, businesses, industry and municipalities.

You can submit a collection request through our website at any time. The online form takes you through a few short steps so that our team receives everything it needs to review your request and get back to you. No account and no online payment are needed.

Step 1:Visit the Rua-Con website

Go to the Rua-Con website and select the green “REQUEST FOR PICKUP” button. It appears at the top of every page, as well as on our service pages and in the website footer.

The button opens the collection request page, where the form sits alongside a step-by-step overview of your request.

Step 2:Select the required service

Choose the service that best describes what you need collected. The options include:

  • General household waste
  • Garden refuse
  • Bulky waste
  • Construction rubble
  • Event waste
  • Commercial waste
  • Recycling collection
  • Other / not sure — for specialised requirements or anything that does not fit the other options

Not sure which service applies? Select “Other / Not Sure” and describe your requirements in the next step. The Rua-Con team will review the details and advise on the right service. Specialised or regulated waste, such as hazardous, bio-hazardous or medical waste, may need additional assessment before a collection can be arranged.

Step 3:Describe the waste

Give an accurate description of the waste or items to be collected. Where relevant, include:

  • What the waste is, for example garden cuttings, old furniture or builder’s rubble.
  • The estimated quantity or volume. If you are unsure, you can tick “I’m not sure”.
  • The number of bags, bins or items.

The more accurate the description, the easier it is for our team to plan the right vehicle and collection arrangements.

Step 4:Provide the collection location

Enter the address where the waste must be collected, including the street address, suburb, town or city, and the postal code if you know it. You will also be asked for the property type, such as a house, complex, business premises or construction site.

Use the location notes to add access instructions, for example a gate code, where the waste is placed on the property, or height and width restrictions at the entrance. You type the address in yourself — no GPS permission is needed.

Step 5:Select a preferred collection date

Choose your preferred collection date and add any further instructions that will help us assess the request, such as timing constraints or on-site contact arrangements.

The date you select is a preference only. It is not automatically confirmed — Rua-Con will confirm availability with you after reviewing your request.

Step 6:Upload photographs if available

If you can, upload clear photographs of the waste, bins or collection area. The form accepts up to three photographs, 7 MB in total. Photos help our team understand the type and volume of waste and plan the collection.

Photographs are optional. If you can’t upload them, you can still submit your request and email the photos afterwards to collections@ruacon.co.za, with your name and collection address in the subject line.

Step 7:Enter contact details

Provide your full name, a contact number and your email address so that Rua-Con can respond to your request. You can also choose how you prefer to be contacted — by phone, email or WhatsApp — and add a company name if you are a business customer.

Step 8:Submit the collection request

Before sending, the form shows a summary of everything you have entered. Check the details, use “Edit” to correct anything, accept the privacy policy and select “Submit Collection Request”.

Look out for the on-screen confirmation that your collection request has been submitted. If the request could not be sent, the form tells you and keeps your answers so you can try again.

Step 9:Wait for feedback from Rua-Con

Our team reviews the information you submitted and contacts you to discuss availability, pricing and the next steps.

Submitting a collection request does not automatically confirm a booking, collection date or price. Your collection is only arranged once Rua-Con has confirmed the details with you.

Tips for a smoother collection request

  • Provide the correct collection address, including the suburb and town or city.
  • Estimate the waste quantity as accurately as possible.
  • Include useful access instructions, such as gate codes or where the waste is placed.
  • Upload clear photographs where possible.
  • Provide a reachable contact number and a valid email address.
  • Submit your request early enough for the team to assess the requirements.

Ready to arrange a collection? Submit your request through our website and let the Rua-Con team assist you.
